18.04.2017 - There have not been any updates for quite a while - nonetheless the project is still alive. We just were able to give another € 500 to the Verbist Care Center as well as some medicine to support the health care for the children. Keep on supporting 1-cent-suffices and invite your friends to do so as well. Regular help - may it be as little as one cent - can make a difference. Thank you for all your support.

Wenn jeder in Deutschland im Jahr einen Cent spendet, sind das 800.000 € im Jahr. Wieviele Leute kennen Sie, denen ein Cent im Jahr einen schmerzlichen Verlust bedeutet?
Und wieviele gute Gründe fallen Ihnen ein, weniger als einen Cent zu geben?
Wahrscheinlich werden weniger als 80 Millionen Leute spenden. Vielleicht manche mehr als einen Cent. Worauf es ankommt, ist die Erkenntnis, daß jede noch so kleine Spende besser ist als gar keine.
If everyone in Germany donated one cent a year, it would sum up to 800.000 €. How many people do you know to whom one cent would be a severe loss?
And how many good reasons you can name to donate less than one cent?
Most likely less than 80 million people will donate. Maybe some will give more than one cent. What really matters is to become aware of that the smallest amount donated is better than to give nothing.

Wir möchten gerne zeigen, daß Helfen nicht von der Menge des Geldes abhängt, sondern davon, tatsächlich etwas zu tun. Daher haben wir die kleinste Einheit genommen, die überwiesen werden kann: ein Cent. Wir kennen niemanden, der nicht in der Lage wäre, einen Cent zu spenden. Es kann also keine finanziellen Gründe geben, wenn man nichts tut.
Ihre Hilfe wird bei denen, die sie erhalten, so viel mehr wert sein als ein Cent.
Das Kinderheim Verbist Care Center kümmert sich seit vielen Jahren um Kinder, die sonst niemanden mehr haben, der ihnen das Lebensnotwendige gibt. Und die Mitarbeiter fragen nicht zuerst, warum Kinder in Not sind und andere nichts tun, sondern helfen - und suchen die Gründe danach. Derzeit leben 43 Kinder im Haus, deren Situation wir verbessern wollen.
We would like to demonstrate that helping is not depending on the amount of money but from really doing something. That is why we chose the smallest unit one can transfer: one cent. We do not know anyone unable to donate even one cent. So there are no financial reasons to excuse doing nothing.
Your donation will be worth so much more to those you give to. The Verbist Care Center takes care for already many years about orphans and children who cannot rely on anyone to support them with the necessary for life. The VCC staff does not ask why children are in need and no one else offers support - they do help themselves first and then later will ask these questions. We would like to support their work and improve the situation of the 43 kids living in the VCC at the moment.

Was geschieht mit dem Geld?
Das Projekt unterstützt ein Kinderheim in Ulaanbaatar. Bei wachsendem Spendenaufkommen wird über weitere zu fördernde Institutionen entschieden.
Warum gibt es keine Spendenquittung?
Momentan ist das Projekt eine private Initiative und kann keine Quittungen ausstellen. Das spart auch Verwaltungsaufwand. Wenn Sie nur gegen eine Quittung spenden möchten, empfehlen wir gerne geeignete Organisationen.
Warum soll ich nur einen Cent spenden?
Natürlich dürfen Sie mehr spenden, viel mehr, wenn Sie wollen. Wir möchten nur zeigen, daß mit der minimalen Summe, die man geben kann, schon Gutes erreicht werden kann.
Wie kann ich sicher sein, daß das Geld auch wohltätigen Zwecken zukommt?
Ich gebe Ihnen mein Ehrenwort, daß das Geld ausschließlich zweckgemäß verwendet wird. Das ist keine juristische, sehr wohl aber eine moralische Kategorie: die des Vertrauens. Ich wünsche mir um Ihretwillen, daß Sie dieses nicht niedriger ansetzen als einen Cent.
Why should I donate for this project?

What will happen with my money donated?
The project supports an orphanage center in Ulaanbaatar. With increasing amount of donations we may decide about additional beneficiaries.
Why don't you issue receipts?
Right now the project is a private initiative and not entitled to issue receipts (that would allow you to deduce your donations from your taxes). If this is a requirement for your donation we will be happy to recommend suitable institutions to donate to.
Why should I donate only 1 cent?
Of course you are free to donate more if you can and want to - much more. We only wanted to show that good deeds already can be achieved with little money spent.
How can I be sure that my money will be used properly?
You have my word that the donations will be used only according to the projects intention. This is not a legal but a moral category: it is trust that you put into my word. I do hope for your own sake that you price it not less than a cent.
